Frequently Asked Questions!

Can I water my plants with tap water?
Technically, you can, but we advise against it. Using filtered, pH-balanced water will yield the best results. Tap water may lead to nutrient lockout due to mineral salt buildup, potentially causing more serious issues. It can also result in the accumulation of heavy metals. To avoid these problems, we recommend using filtered water with a pH balance of around 6.5.

Organic vs Conventional growing methods?
We always advocate for organic growing methods. If possible, try to source organic soil locally or obtain the raw ingredients to create your own living soil. Your plants will greatly appreciate it. When it comes to fertilizers, look for locally sourced options to support small businesses. There are plenty of affordable and easy alternatives available, so you need not feel pressured to purchase commercial nutrients, which can quickly accumulate expenses. One of the most cost-effective nutrient additions we have used is rabbit poop. So, if you’ve been contemplating getting a bunny, here’s another reason to go for it!

Is buying cannabis seeds legal?
The legality of buying cannabis seeds varies in each state/country. In many countries, including the US, cannabis seeds are legal until they are germinated and planted. Therefore, buying and possessing seeds is generally legal unless growing is prohibited in your jurisdiction. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the local laws applicable to your area.

Where should I learn about how to grow cannabis?
We will delve into this topic more extensively in future blog posts, so keep an eye out for more detailed information. As a starting point, consider reading “Growing Elite Marijuana” by Ryan Riley. If you’re seeking more advanced knowledge, “Marijuana Botany: An Advanced Study: The Propagation and Breeding of Distinctive Cannabis” by R. C. Clarke is an excellent resource.

How should I store my cannabis seeds?
Store your cannabis seeds in a cool, dark place with low humidity. Freezing them is an option, but they can remain viable for a couple of years when stored in the back of a dark cabinet. Keep in mind that germination rates may decrease or take longer if you wait more than a few years to plant the seeds.

Sativas vs Indicas, which one should I choose?
Sativas and Indicas serve different purposes. Sativas are typically used to provide an uplifting and motivating effect throughout the day. African sativas, which often have higher levels of THCV, have been associated with weight loss. Indicas, on the other hand, are known for their calming and sedating properties, making them suitable for relaxation and sleep aid. They can be highly effective in relieving pain and promoting restful sleep.
